Media Lab Releases Free SiteGrinder Script Pack

Media Lab Introduces a Free Set of Work-Saving Photoshop Scripts

LOGAN, UT–(Marketwire – May 16, 2012) – Media Lab Inc., premier provider of Photoshop plug-in website creation technologies, announces the free release of its SiteGrinder Script Pack for Photoshop. The free combo of scripted functions for Photoshop provides tools for managing layers and layer comps that help any Photoshop user save time and eliminate tedious work.

The SiteGrinder Script Pack includes two separate features. The first is the Smart Group Duplicator that, in one step, duplicates layer groups and modifies both the layer contents and layer names of the new groups as it creates them. This is ideal for taking a complex element, like a web button made up of grouped layers containing image and text layers, and creating the many custom copies that will make up a button bar or menu. The Smart Group Duplicator includes a settings window to determine the ways in which newly created groups are modified.

The second script is called, “Add Selected Layers to Selected Comps.” It allows users to select any number of layers in the layers palette and add them to any number of layer comps in one quick step. Without this script the process of adding new layers to a number of layer comps is repetitive, time consuming, and error-prone.

In addition to the scripts, Media Lab has released free videos demonstrating their installation and use, including a thorough video introduction to how layer comps work.

Links to these freely downloadable scripts can be found at Media Lab’s homepage at www.medialab.com.
