Here it is...I worked on it this weekend. My goal was to exhibit our photography on each and every page. Please let me know what elements you like and dislike. Also if I should add any thing or remove.
Thank you fellow Grinders!!!

| I think you've done a nice job with your website. One change I would make however is to switch your gallery buttons and rollovers. The photos appear overexposed until you mouse over them and then they look great. I would think your response would be better if the properly exposed photos were presented. Just a thought. |

| You're off to a nice start. Question - why are there blank buttons on the left side of the screen? I'm also wondering why on the home page the menu at the top is repeated at the bottom. |

Thank you for visiting.
First to Allen's question about the rollover vs button lightness. I always found it strange for roll over buttons to all of a sudden darken or lighten when chosen or rolled over. I think that is the opposite of what a rollover should do. Instead, the buttons are lightened but still visible until they are rolled over...in essence when they become fully saturated and the correct exposure, to me at least it seems to be emphasized as being the chosen button.
Secondly to Mr Bomdiggity's questions...the blanks buttons are there because I haven't finnised the site yet...work in progress. Regarding the menu/navigation bar at both top and bottom...well there are lots of wide screen laptops these days so they would have to scroll down to see the pages in their entirety. The menu/navigation bar at the bottom allows veiwers to proceed without scrolling back up.
Thank you very much...keep them coming...I'll update the site again soon.

Nice job.
I think Allen has a point about the photo rollovers. Understand your position on the rollover darkening the image from a web design perspective, but there's also the marketing part. At first glance, it looks like your B&W images are too flat. When you roll over the image, it looks great. You might want to figure out a different approach to indicate the image is a hot spot that you can click on.
Design needs to be intuitive but just it's as important that it communicate your talents.

Why does the event button take you to a separate page?
I feel that the galleries page should have the same navigation layout as the other pages.
The the rollovers of the photos are nice.
Nice site. |

Your background image... How did you optimize the background image to maintain sharpness and clarity without slowing loading of the site?

I know this request for comments was posted over a year and a half ago, but I wanted to reiterate what's been said about the rollover gallery images. The lightened images appear washed out. They don't seem to do your work justice. If I didn't rollover your images, I wouldn't know the quality of your images is actually much better than how they are being presented at first glance.
I'd like to suggest maybe a border to show the user which item is being rolled over and selected. I think a soft vignetting around the edge would look nice and allow your images to be shown at their best quality from the get go.
Best of luck to you with your business.

I like the way the rollovers work... I think it's a matter of individual tastes, but I think people will intuitively move their mouse over the images (I did).
Very nice presentation. |

Hi,
Congrats on your nice looking site.
As far as the rollover images issue goes, you have to put yourself in the shoes of the potential CUSTOMER, who comes to your site.
If they don't mouse over the button images, they might look at the non-rollover images and erroneously conclude that your photography is flat and lacks crisp contrast.
Yes, if they mouse over the images they can see this is not the case, but what if they don't mouse over them? You might have just lost a customer who would have otherwise loved your work and used you ! That's certainly not good.
Consider maybe a "light up" border around the image or some other type of rollover that doesn't detract from your otherwise nice work.
Just my 2 cents worth. Peace. |

Hi
Nice straight forward site.
Just to let you know the events button to the external site gives me broken links in both the (up to date) Fire Fox and Safari browsers on my Mac
