How do I set which page is the site’s home page (index page)?
The home page is the page that will open in a browser that is directed to a directory on a web site, but not to a specific html file. Web servers are generally present a file called "index.html" if a file of that name exists in the directory. Thus it is useful to be able to name your homepage "index.html".
SiteGrinder makes this easy. SiteGrinder normally uses a page's name (the layer comp or Page Definition name) to create both the name of the HTML file that represents the page and also the name as it appears in the browser's title bar when you are viewing the page.
Here are the steps to set one of the pages of your site to use "index.html" as it's file name:
That's it!
Don't worry if your name for the page (in its layer comp or SiteGrinder Tools page definition) is "My Cool Site" and the button layers linking to the page are called "My Cool Site-button" SiteGrinder will automatically adjust the links so that they link to "index.html" when you build the site.
