SiteGrinder

What do we mean by a page?

Ultimately the term "page" refers to any of the web pages you build with SiteGrinder. SiteGrinder builds your entire site in one pass, so it needs to know which layers of your Photoshop document should appear on which pages.

There are two easy ways to tell SiteGrinder which layers appear on which pages (click either one for details):

Both use the same basic technique: hide and show layers to reflect how you want a particular page to look and then create a layer comp or SiteGrinder Tools page definition with the page's name.

The page name is very important because SiteGrinder automatically adds hyperlinks from buttons to pages with matching names. Thus if you have one or more button layers named "Home-button" and a page named "Home-page" then you don't need to do anything else...SiteGrinder handles it.

Popups and rollovers don't have to be visible to be included in a page, only the buttons that trigger them.

SiteGrinder also allows you to derive "clone"pages by basing them on the current state of the document or on other defined pages for making generic template pages. Click here for more information about deriving clone pages.
