Comprehensive Events

This type of event tests all parts of the system and is coordinated with agencies outside the hospital. It takes extensive planning. A comprehensive event is intended to test a real emergency event, including:
  • Human resources
  • Supplies
  • Communications
  • Transportation
  • Processes and procedures
This exercise involves:
  • Individuals in every role
  • Multiple observers who document resources, decisions, and assesses group interactions
  • Months of planning
  • Multiple organizations
Mock patients are involved in this event.
