Monocytes

Monocytes (red arrows) are larger than lymphocytes (blue arrows). They tend to have a more complex nuclear shape and cytoplasm that is more grainy than lymphocytes. Their chromatin is softer, finer, and more "lacy" when compared to lymphocyte chromatin.
Notice the greater irregularity of the cytoplasmic membranes in the monocytes compared to the lymphocytes.
