Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), continued

This cytospin shows three myeloid blasts (blue arrows) and a cell that is in mitosis (red arrow). These three blasts have varying amounts of cytoplasm and nuclear complexity, but all have similar chromatin /cytoplasmic textures and staining characteristics.
Mitotic figures are not usually seen in benign fluids and should be commented upon in the differential report, in accordance with your hospital's reporting protocols.
