Precision
and
accuracy
are terms essential to quality control.
Let's say that you shoot three arrows at a target, hoping to hit the bull's-eye each time.
Looking at the figure to the right, you will see that you didn't hit the bull's-eye, nor were your arrows near each other.
In other words, you were neither accurate (you didn't hit the bull's eye) nor were you precise (the arrows were all over the target).
