Symptoms of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemias

A complete patient history (including diagnosis, medications, and transfusion history) can provide beneficial information to aid in the identification of the causative autoantibody.
Many symptoms are possible as a result of an autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Some common symptoms, which can present as mild to severe, include:
  • Fatigue
  • Jaundice
  • Shortness of breath
  • Hemoglobinemia
  • Hemoglobinuria
  • Splenomegaly
