Updates to Document Control for 9/9

At MediaLab, we're continually working with our customers to enhance Document Control. The updates below will be made on Tuesday, September 10. There's no action you need to take. The system will remain functional during the updates.

Improvements to the display of Word documents

Word documents will look better on the screen -- fonts will be anti-aliased and resolution of embedded images will be sharper. Have you had the chance to preview the new look for your Word documents? If not, view a document and click on "Preview new rendering option."

Opt-out of the display improvements for Word documents

During the preview phase, most customers have liked the new look for Word documents, but a few preferred the old format. You'll be able to opt-out of the new look once it goes live using "Change options."

Header and footer information on blank copies of Word and Excel documents

When creating a blank copy of a Word or Excel document, there was no header or footer information inserted into the created Word or Excel files. This has been changed. Headers and footers in Word will appear above / below your existing headers (if applicable). Headers and footers in Excel will appear in cells A1 and A2. If these cells are already occupied, we'll insert new cells for the headers and footers so we don't overwrite your content.

Customize headers and footers on controlled copies, uncontrolled copies, blank copies, and manual copies

You'll be able to change the elements included in the headers and footers on each page of paper copies printed by the system.
