Terms used but not defined in this document have the meaning set forth in MediaLab's Service Agreement, available at
/medialab-service-agreement.
Compliance & CE Courses: MediaLab will provide Web-based continuing education and compliance courses for clinical laboratory science and an online tracking and reporting application (learning management system) for administering those courses to Authorized Users. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the Authorized Users shown in each appliable Order Form. The menu of included courses will vary, but no fewer than 140 courses will be made available. A current list of courses is available on the MediaLab website at
/courses.aspx. Access to MediaLab's CourseBuilder is also included. Customer may build unlimited courses using the CourseBuilder tool.
Histology CE Courses: MediaLab will provide web-based continuing education for histology and an online tracking and reporting application (learning management system) for administering those courses to Authorized Users. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form. The menu of included courses will vary, but no fewer than 30 histology-specific courses will be made available. A current list of courses is available on the MediaLab website at
/histology-courses.aspx. Access to MediaLab's CourseBuilder is also included. Customer may build unlimited courses using the CourseBuilder tool.
Mandatory Annual HR Courses: MediaLab will provide web-based education courses in the mandatory compliance training curriculum and an online tracking and reporting application (learning management system) for administering those courses to Authorized Users. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth each applicable Order Form.
Document Control: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to manage uploaded documents, including managing approvals, revisions, periodic review, employee signoff, controlled copies, and reporting in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission requirements. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
InspectionProof: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users manage uploaded CAP checklists, attach Document Control files, text answers, and other uploaded files to checklist items, and manage inspection preparedness for the laboratory. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Customer sites set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Compass: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users create, deliver, and report on competency assessments. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Personnel Documentation: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users create, deliver, and report on documentation required for employee files according to accreditation standards. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
IQE (Intelligent Quality Engine): MediaLab will provide a web-based system to provide form templates and custom form creation in order to collect event-based data, such as non-conforming event data as well as other custom data log form data, such as instrument maintenance logging. This system will allow for corrective and preventive action workflows and evaluation triggers to manage Customer's laboratory's events with customizable reporting options. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of sites set forth in each applicable Order Form.
MLS & MLT Exam Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users prepare for laboratory certification exams, following commonly used computer adaptive testing formats from ASCP and AMT. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Phlebotomy Exam Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users prepare for phlebotomy certification exams, following commonly used online testing formats from ASCP, AMT, NCCT and NHA. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Histology Exam Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users prepare for histology certification exams, following commonly used computer adaptive testing formats from ASCP and AMT. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
White Blood Cell Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users practice identification of white blood cells. 25 cases are included. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Advanced White Blood Cell Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users practice more advanced identification of white blood cells. 12 cases are included. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Red Blood Cell Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users practice identification of red blood cell morphology. 25 cases are included. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Urinalysis Case Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help Authorized Users practice macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis. 30 cases are included. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Body Fluids Count Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help users practice peritoneal and pleural fluid expert-reviewed cases, each with images of hemocytometer, cytospin slides, unknown nucleated cell identification, cell count calculation exercises, and review videos. 30 cases are included. MediaLab's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Bacteriology Case Simulator: MediaLab will provide a web-based system to help users practice bacteriology identification with 49 expert-reviewed cases, each with images of plates/colonies, gram stains, biochemical testing, and review videos. Customer's subscription provides access to these services for the number of Authorized Users set forth in each applicable Order Form.
SSO Configuration / Maintenance: MediaLab will collaborate with Customer's IT department to integrate MediaLab with the Customer institution's existing SAML-based single sign-on process. Customer's subscription includes customization of MediaLab to receive the Customer institution's login requests via SAML 2.0, technical support for the connection between Customer's existing single sign-on process and MediaLab, and troubleshooting of users that are unable to log in. Up to 10 hours of MediaLab developer time are included. More complex integrations or integrations that do not support SAML 2.0 may incur additional charges. Customer's subscription includes only authentication functionality and does not include creation or update of user profiles through SAML, SKIM, or any other method.
Document Porting: MediaLab will assist in the process of mass importing documents into MediaLab's Document Control system. Customer must provide the documents that are to be uploaded in Word, PDF, Excel, or PowerPoint format, with each document as a separate file. Customer must complete a document information spreadsheet so that MediaLab can correctly import document names, numbers, version numbers, author names, approval history, periodic review history, and last approval date. MediaLab will place documents into the appropriate manuals based on the document information spreadsheet. MediaLab will assist with the training support to configure sharing and importing of documents between sites, if applicable. Customer's purchase of this item includes document porting for up to the number of document files set forth in each applicable Order Form.
Custom or Miscellaneous Services: MediaLab will provide to Customer any custom and/or miscellaneous services set forth in one or more Order Forms.
Enterprise Management Features:
General: MediaLab will allow Customer to designate one site as an enterprise site, which can have separate laboratory sites (physical locations) configured as set forth in the Order Forms. Sites can share subscriptions with enterprise billing and can also have access to individually purchased applications at the site level as well. Sites can act autonomously from the enterprise site, including having their own use lists, group lists, Document Control documents, Compass profiles, InspectionProof inspections, Compliance & CE custom courses, IQE forms and events, Personnel Documentation rosters, approval processes, workflows, reporting, and more. Authorized User access for a site can be limited to that site, so its Authorized Users only see activities relevant to the site's own users and files. The enterprise entity and its enterprise administrators have reporting power over all sites, and can see reports across all sites, or they can drill down and see reports for a specific site. Customer's subscription allows Customer to create the number of sites set forth in each applicable Order Form underneath a single enterprise entity.
- Special for Document Control: Enterprise management features for Document Control include the ability to share documents between the enterprise entity and sites, so that all participating institutions stay in sync. Signatures can also be copied between institutions, so an Authorized User required to sign a document on behalf of multiple locations may need to sign only once.
- Special for Compass: Enterprise management features for Compass include the ability to share competency profiles with sites. The site can synchronize to the enterprise's competency profile, so all changes made by the enterprise site are automatically reflected in the site's competency assessments, or the site can choose to import and further customize enterprise competency assessments, using them as a starting point for further adaptation to the site's specific needs.
- Special for Personnel Documentation: Designate certain file types as "shared," so an Authorized User that works at multiple sites or changes sites does not need to upload a new resume / CV, proof of licensure, education transcript, or other non-location specific documents.
- Special for IQE: Share corporate forms to your divisions, with the optional ability for divisions to edit the forms. Access reports from all divisions from the corporate site, integrating events into a single report.
Premium Support: Premium Support subscribers are assigned to a MediaLab implementation specialist that will be a primary point of contact for Customer. Customer's implementation specialist will get to know Customer's account and be able to answer Customer's specialized configuration, optimization, and best practice questions. Implementation specialists will meet with key stakeholders to understand the unique needs and scope of Customer's organization. The specialists will help outline goals and timelines for module implementation, as well as help identify and define personnel with implementation roles. Premium Support subscribers will receive ongoing specialized support through standing virtual meetings to make sure Customer is getting the most out of its MediaLab subscription. Premium support subscribers are entitled to up to 12 meetings per year. Support issues raised by Premium Support subscribers are prioritized for faster response.
